WHO IS SHE
Izzy Ritchie honed her performance skills on stages around the world including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Byron Bay Blues Fest as a member of The Strumbellas. Her violin adds a unique element to the pop indie sound and her strong harmonies bolster the group’s vocals. Currently, The Strumbellas are hitting the road for a Fall Tour across the United States . Ritchie has the confidence and heart of a well-seasoned performer who has shared stages with the likes of Weezer, Blue Rodeo, and Head and the Heart. As Ritchie looks ahead to 2018, she is ready to make her solo debut and can’t wait for you to hear it.
Izzy Ritchie finds her sound in roots and country melodies steeped in the streets and sounds of Toronto. Traditional bars blend with the sounds of guitar, violin, and synthesizers, infused with a wry sense of humour that will bring a smile to even the most cynical. Ritchie reflects her own experiences of love and heartbreak in relatable ways that still find new ground. Though the songs speak to lonely bars, heartbreak, and redemption, they veer off the well-trodden trails of folk and country traditions.
